The knowledge gained from this Introductory Module will enable candidates to develop an understanding of the role of the football coach in working with young children aged 5-11.
The role of a football coach is a rewarding and responsible one. Players and clubs have high expectations of coach’s conduct and behaviour that must be understood and supported by everybody.
Who should apply?
The course is open to holders of the 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football or above, or qualified teachers (QTS).
What will I learn?
On successful completion of the course candidates should be able to:
- Define movement skills incorporating Agility, Balance & Co-ordination and their relevance to the game
- Explain & demonstrate how technique can be used to help players perform a skill
- Demonstrate how to use Level 1 games to grow players understanding of football and how we as coaches can manage difference in our groups
- Show how to modify Level 1 games to have an effect upon an individuals technical needs
- Explain how we all learn differently and begin to include this knowledge within a coaching session
- Gain an understanding of The FA Tesco Skills Programme
