Girls' and Women's Initiatives

Norfolk County FA Girls' and Women’s football programme offers the following initiatives to help develop both player and coach understanding.

Charter Standard Development
The FA Charter Standard kitemark looks to provide recognition to those clubs who demonstrate:
Required Standards
Raising Standards
Reaching Standards

Norfolk County FA aims to increase the number of girls' clubs and boys' clubs with girls' teams achieving the Charter Standard award. Within the women's game our targets have outlined women's clubs to achieve Charter Standard Adult Award.

Taster Sessions
Norfolk County FA provides girls' football development days at local clubs, which wish to establish connections with girls' football. School club links can be developed as possible 3 Lions FC programmes. Each taster session enables players to receive professional coaching within a safe, fun-packed environment.

Starter Packs
Norfolk County provides new clubs and volunteers with equipment for training and match purposes. A  pack contains 1 pump, 12 footballs & bag, 12 bibs and 50 cones.

Coach Education
Norfolk County FA continuously monitors the number of female coaches at all levels within Norfolk. Our main aim is to increase the number of women attending and completing FA Coach Education Courses. Bursaries will be used to encourage more women to attend courses improving the return rate of students on Coaching Certificates through mentorship.

New Teams
Club development is of great importance to strengthen the girls' & women's game within Norfolk. There are three leagues for girls' football within the county – Norfolk Women's and Girls' League, Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League and the Fenland Girls' League – for further details contact Darren Moss on 01603 704050.

Disability

The scheme will deliver Soccabilty training courses offering teachers from mainstream units who are TOPs trained opportunities to gain qualification from this programme.
