Norfolk FA School Club Links Programme

Do you currently have a link with a club?

This link could be informal, where the club recruits players from your school or in some cases more formal, where clubs may help to deliver football sessions or in school tournaments at your school.

Norfolk County FA delivers a school club links programme to support clubs that hold the FA Charter Standard Club Award. The programme is designed to help clubs sustain and grow by encouraging players who don’t currently play affiliated football to do so and at the same time educate teachers and increase the number of young volunteers within football.

Please find below an example of a typical school club links programme.
  • The FA Charter Standard Club identifies their target area, for example setting up a new Girl’s U10 team
  • NCFA deliver an Out of School Hours Learning (OSHL) programme within local schools specific for the clubs target area
  • Following the OSHL, the participants are invited to attend a ‘3 Lions Centre’ within the club. These sessions will initially be delivered by our NCFA coach and assisted by a nominated club coach who will eventually continue the sessions and take the team on
  • Coinciding with the School Club links programme we also look to deliver a Junior Football Organisers (JFO) Course in a local secondary school. This course is available to 14 – 18 year olds. As part of the course the young leaders will host a festival of football to the schools who took part in the OSHL programme. By completing the JFO course, it will hopefully encourage the young leaders to become actively involved within a Charter Standard Club
