Small Sided Football is the most popular team sport in the country, with over 2.6 million adults playing each year in England.
Norfolk County FA, in partnership with UMBRO and supported by the Football Foundation and Active Norfolk, has established seven County 5IVES Centres around Norfolk, aimed at further increasing participation levels in affiliated football by offering Small Sided Football opportunities in our area.
The project will boost the health and well being of Norfolk’s adult population, helping to bring the area in line with Sport England’s national target of improving participation and increasing activity and exercise by 1% (2 million people) by 2012.
County 5IVES Centres run at seven specially selected venues across Norfolk; Acle, Aylsham, Dereham, Hellesdon, Thorpe, Lynn Grove Gorleston and at the UEA Sportspark, with a new Centre coming to King's Lynn in September 2009.
All County 5IVES Centres boast state of the art 3rd Generation Artificial grass pitches, a new surface that simulates the qualities of natural grass and accommodates moulded football boots (trainers and Astro boots only permitted at the UEA Sportspark Centre).
Open to all adult males aged 16 or over, all County 5IVES fixtures are officiated by a qualified, registered referee who has attended the FA Small Sided Referees Conversion Course, while a County 5IVES Centre Coordinator is on hand at every fixture to ensure the smooth running of match evenings.
All County 5IVES Centres are affiliated to Norfolk County FA and registered participants receive free public liability and personal accident insurance. Furthermore, with UMBRO as the official partner, all County 5IVES Centres make use of high quality UMBRO equipment for every fixture.
Is this the excuse you have been waiting for to set up a team with work colleagues? Or have you been meaning to spend more social time with friends? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then County 5IVES is the ideal opportunity for you.
