Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most FAQs regarding the administration of Clubs. This list isn't exhaustive and if you have a question which isn't listed please contact the County Headquarters on 01603 704050 for possible inclusion.

Q - Can I send my completed caution/send off form in now and send the money later?
A - No - we must receive both the form and cheque or postal order at the same time. Please do not send cash as this frequently goes missing in the post.

Q - I am the Club Secretary and the player is on holiday and can not sign his / her caution form. Can I sign it on their behalf?
A - The player no longer needs to sign the caution form. Only the Club Secretaries signature is required. However you should make him aware the caution has arrived.

Q - My son or daughter is looking to join a youth team in Norfolk, can you recommend any for him / her?
A - Yes, we can give you the names of Charter Standard clubs in your area along with details of our youth league secretaries who can be contacted to find a club for your son or daughter. Q - Can you give us guidance on goal post and pitch sizes?
A - Yes. The FA recommends certain goalpost and pitch dimensions depending on age group, but there are absolute maximum and minimum size restrictions. To view a printable version of these sizes download the related document to the right.

Q-  What is the minimum age a player can play adult football?
A - This season he/she must be 15 on 31st August. However, for season 2007/2008 a player must be 16 years of age on 31st August to play adult football.

Q - Can girls play mixed football with boys?
A - Yes, as long as they are under 11 on 31st August.

Q - Can rolling substitutes be used?
A - Yes, this is a mandatory regulation for youth, boys, girls, and veterans but not in adult men’s and women’s fixtures.

Q - Can we register players after submitting the original list of players for a particular competition?
A - Yes, you may register players up to kick-off time on the day of the match by electronic means. However, if submitting their names by post they must be here by 5pm on the Friday prior to the match.

Q - Is a non-playing substitute considered to have played in a County Cup match?
A -  No. He / She must actually play in the game to have considered this to have been an appearance.

Q - If a player plays for a team in a County Cup Competition on a particular match day and he/she  transfers to another club during the season can he/she register for another team on the same match day?
A - Only if he/she is going to play at a higher level of competition.
