Nominations Open For 2008 FA Football Workforce Awards

As the 2007/08 football season draws to a close, it’s time for us at The FA to say a big thank you to the many volunteers who keep football going every week, up and down the Country. As a way of recognising those individuals who dedicate themselves so commendably, The FA has a number of awards available.

One is The FA volunteer certificate and pin badge, which can be presented by Leagues and Clubs to volunteers as a way of marking their contribution.

In addition, we at Norfolk County FA are looking to present five County FA Workforce Awards and one County FA Young Persons Workforce Award at the Norfolk County FA Summer Awards Evening, to thank those who make an extra special contribution.

The winners of the County FA awards will be submitted to the national FA, which in turn will choose seven National Workforce winners and three National Young Persons Workforce winners to attend The FA Community Shield as their VIP guests.

To put this into perspective, last year’s County FA Young Persons Award winner Kyle Williamson, of Clenchwarton Youth FC, went on to win one of the three National Young Person Awards. As part of his success, Kyle was a VIP guest at the first ever FA Community Shield at the new Wembley, walking out onto the hallowed turf before being paraded in front of 90,000 people.

The deadline for all nominations is 31 May 2008, so if you think you know someone who deserves an award, get in touch!
