RefereeingCould You Be The Next Premier League Referee?
Thursday, 08 May 2008.
There’s good news if you’re looking to get into refereeing ahead of the new season. A referee’s course is being held at County FA Headquarters in June for new officials.
The course will run over the 14, 15 and 21 June, with each session running between 9am - 4.30pm.
The course will prepare you for the role of a referee, giving full instruction on the laws of Association Football and how to apply them in a game situation. The three part course also includes a Safeguarding Children workshop and a CRB Disclosure Check.
For those who are 16 years and over, the cost of the course is £129, which includes all tuition resources and a full referee’s starter pack. The pack provides a new referee with all the equipment required to referee a game of football, such as a full kit, flags, cards, notepad and a whistle.
On completion of your first 6 games, you will be able to apply to The FA for a partial course refund, whilst the money a trainee referee will earn during the 6 training games that form part of the course will ensure all costs are well covered.
