Nominate Your Groundsman: Deadline Extended!

News

The Football Association, in conjunction with County Football Associations are again running the prestigious Groundsman of the Year Awards for the 2009-10 season, for all clubs playing at step 7 (Anglian Combination Premier Division) or below.

Should you wish to nominate your Groundsman, please download the Nomination Form for this year's award from the related documents section to the right of the page. All completed nominations must be returned to the County Headquarters by Friday 12 February 2010 at the very latest.

A judging panel selected by Norfolk County Football Association, which again this year includes Gary Kemp (Norwich City FC's Head Groundsman) will visit all nominees between February 18 - 29, and decide on a first, second and third placing, which will be submitted to the Football Association.

The first placed Club will then undergo independent National Judging against other clubs across the Country. This will be lead nationally from the FA with the judging for this taking place in April 2010.

Please note that nominations can only be considered where the groundsman is a member of the club, so clubs cannot be nominated where the pitch is maintained by an external contractor (Local Authority etc) or Maintenance Company.

So has your Groundsman got what it takes? Would your Groundsman appreciate being visited by Norwich City FC's Head Groundsman? To apply, complete the nomination form and let's reward these unsung heroes for all the hard work that is carried out during the season!
