Brownies England Football Day

On Tuesday 15 June over 60 dads and Brownies from the 4th Old Catton pack descended on Lodge Lane infant school for a ‘World Cup’ skills session delivered by our Girls & Women's FDO, Darren Moss.

Many of the participants arrived wearing their England shirts and participated in many skill based activities to ‘test’ their touch and ability in fun based sessions.

'Step over’s' and ‘Cruyff turns' were the order of the day as Darren put both Brownies and dads through their paces during the course of the hour and a half session.

There were posters and certificates for all the girls taking part at the end of the day, celebrating their England hero’s out in South Africa as well as the achievements of the England Women’s squad to help raise awareness of the female game.

After the event Darren said:

"It was great fun and a fantastic idea by the pack to get dads involved with their daughters during what is an exciting time with World Cup fever in the air. The girls and dads both participated well and were keen to try something new."
