Gorleston lifted the Norfolk Senior Cup on Monday night, after defeating Thetford Town 2-0 at Carrow Road.
Two first half goals from Ally McKenna and Man of the Match Gary Williams proved to be enough to secure the silverware for the Greens.
While Thetford were much improved after the break, they couldn’t find a goal to give them hope and they were reduced to 10 men shortly before the end, when substitute Steven Davies was given his marching orders to further compound Town’s misery.
Gorleston were joined on the pitch by Elizabeth Jones, daughter of the late Gorleston President Jimmy Jones, for the presentation of the trophy in what was a fitting tribute to a much loved man.
