On Your Bike, Chairman!

Norfolk County FA Chairman, Michael Banham has agreed to join Norfolk Referee, Peter Venables and his colleagues in the 100 Referees Cycle 100 Miles e

In October 2013, there was a dreadful road traffic accident involving the wife of Norfolk referee Peter Venables. This incident involved not one but two air ambulances. Mrs Venables was taken by air ambulance to hospital and we are pleased to say she continues to make progress in her recovery.

Established as a charity in 2000, the EAAA runs dedicated, highly skilled medical crews on the specially equipped helicopters. These helicopters have helped to save the lives of hundreds of people unfortunate enough to be involved in accidents or medical emergencies in this region.

£2,400 is needed each time an air ambulance takes off, meaning a substantial investment is needed to keep this vital service operational. The aim is to raise as much money as possible for this essential service with 100 Norfolk referees cycling 100 miles for the EAAA. Family and friends will also be joining Peter and the referees.

On the day, we will be assembling at Carrow Road, Norwich City FC, for a 08:30 start, heading out on the A140 to Sheringham. We will then go all the way along the coast road to Great Yarmouth, before heading back to Norwich via Acle, South Walsham and Thorpe End!
