Sunday Intermediate Cup Preview

Hewett Old Boys and North Walsham Town of the Norwich & District Sunday League will go head to head in the Sunday Intermediate Cup Final on Friday nig

Hewett Old Boys have recently been crowned Champions of Division 2A as they currently sit 8 points clear with one game to go. They took an impressive scalp in the Cup by beating Windmill Reserves, who themselves had an unbeaten season until meeting the Old Boys in the semi-finals.

The Norwich based side have never reached a Sunday Intermediate Cup Final before so they will also be looking to be crowned champions and make it a season to remember for the Club. Manager Ryan Wiley will be hoping that his side can go all the way:

“With every game we have played this season, I feel like we have improved in so many areas, playing some great football along the way too. We’re by no means the finished article but we’re getting there.”

North Walsham Town meanwhile play in Division 2B and have had a successful season, sitting in 2nd place in the table. The Club reached the Sunday Junior Cup Final last year but lost out to SNS by 4 goals to 0, and they will be hoping that the experience of last season will help them on their way to a County Cup Final win.

North Walsham Town have only lost 2 league games since 2015, so they are a team full of confidence, scoring 174 goals in all competitions this season. Manager Chris Gray has been delighted with their season so far and is desperate to win some silverware this season:

“I think we have been brilliant this season. We have had a couple of blips with a defeat and a draw, but our goal scoring record has been really impressive. One thing is for sure - when we play, there will be goals!”
