Open Academy Win This Year's Cowles Cup
Open Academy is this year’s Cowles Cup Winners thanks to a first half strike from George Diggens.

With a quarter of an hour gone in the match, a foul by Archie Galley on Adam Simmons on the half way line resulted in more than a free kick. Both players were sent off by referee, Harvey Newstead, for kicking out after the foul had been rewarded. This allowed space to open up in the middle of the park as both teams had lost a player.
The only goal of the game came in the 40th minute. This was when George Diggens latched onto a cross from the left wing; Diggens beat his man to the ball at the far post to volley home.
Half Time – Open Academy 1-0 Langley School
The second half was a much quieter affair than the first, with minimal chances being created by either side. The only real chance in the half came to Diggens after a great pass from Jake Mann. Diggens fired his shot directly at the keeper; the shot was hit with so much power that it could not be held, however Langley managed to clear the danger.
