Full Time – Dussindale 4-1 East Harling

In the opening minutes East Harling were much the better side and looked dangerous going forward. Their best chance came after five minutes when Charlie Webb fired his effort against the bar, only for the Linesman to raise the flag anyway.

Against the run of play Dussindale opened the scoring after 8 minutes, when Sam Brooks latched onto a cross swung into the far stick. He threw himself at the ball and after taking a deflection off Matthew Allin and Goalkeeper Jamie Woodcock the ball nestled in the bottom corner.

Dussindale doubled their lead when Tom Cullumbine rounded the goalkeeper and passed the ball into an empty net after getting on the end of a ball through the East Harling back line.

Dussindale got their third when another ball into the box from the right hand side was calmly controlled by Graeme Bird. He held off his man and then blasted the ball past the motionless keeper from 8 yards out.

With seconds to go in the first half a glorious chance for East Harling was wasted. A ball into the box from Ollie Tarft on the right hand side was met by a powerful header but this effort went narrowly over the crossbar.

Half Time – Dussindale 3-0 East Harling

With less than three minutes played in the second half East Harling had a great chance to get on the score sheet. A free kick whipped into the box from the right was met by a powerful header but this effort went inches wide of the left post.

East Harling finally got their breakthrough when Tarft crossed the ball into the box and the keeper came to collect the ball for what appeared to be a simple catch. However, due to the slippery conditions the ball spurted out of the keeper’s grasp and was nodded home by Kamren Senior from three yards out.

With half an hour left to play Dussindale got their fourth putting the game to bed. Another goalkeeper mistake gave the Dussindale forward the simple task of passing the ball into an open net. This was the last goal in the match meaning that Dussindale Rovers are this year’s Junior Cup winners.
