Leathes Prior Veterans League Bulletin - Matchday 2

Take a look at all the results from the second round of fixtures.

Welcome to the second bulletin of the season and after 14 games over the last two weeks we have plenty of action to look at.
 
Veterans League Review
 
Horsford moved to the top of the Premiership table after coming out on top after a tight tussle with Tavern Old Boys 3 goals to 2. Daniel McKail, Scott McKinney and Paul Reeve were all on target for Horsford whilst Tavern’s goals came from Duncan Hewitt and Stephen Jones. Cringleford also won 3-2 as they saw off Thetford Town thanks to goals from Rudi Hare, Kelvin Willimott and Andre Justice. This win moves Cringleford above Thetford to third whilst Thetford drop to fifth. Silver Fox had a thumping first win of the season as they beat North Walsham 7-1. Josh Barzey and Kirk Bardsley both scored hat tricks to move their side up to fourth in the table. Quebec also sealed their first win of the season as they won at Attleborough 2-1. In the Championship, Martham secured back to back wins as they beat Cottage 3-0. Bobby Burrage scored a brace with Grant Johnson adding a third as they sit top of the table. Wymondham Town came out on top of a seven goal thriller as they beat Mattishall Wanderers 4-3. Gavin Bland scored a hat trick for Mattishall but it wasn’t enough as they start the season with back to back defeats. Mulbarton Wanderers got their season off to a great start as they put seven past Scole United. Ian Babb scored four of the goals with Martin Cornish, Matthew Dye and Chris Sutcliffe all scoring one each. Sheringham continued their flying start in League One as they beat Costessey Sports 7-0. Simon Robinsion was on target four times whilst there was one a piece for Jeff Meggeson, Leigh Wells and Paul Winterbone. Sole & Heel maintained their perfect start thanks to Sam Trabelsi as they beat Unthank Arms 1-0. Cringleford Old Boys bounced back from defeat in their first game with a win against Wensum Albion 3-2. Chris Sainty, Matthew Wells and Richard Kenyon were all on target for Cringleford’s first win of the season. To view the table for League One then please click here: NCFA Veterans League One
 
Hethersett got off to a perfect start as they beat Micawbers Tavern by 5 goals to 0. Hethersett go top of the League Two table whilst Micawbers sit bottom. Necton secured local bragging rights as they beat Swaffham Town 1-0 thanks to a Richard Allen goal. That win puts them in second place. Downham Town beat Erpingham United 8-1 in their first ever Veterans League game. They go to the top of League Three thanks to a hattrick a piece from Peter Melerski and Steven Wymer. James Barwick was also on the scoresheet with a brace. The last game of the matchday came from Newsman Valhalla as they lost to new boys Y.B.V Costessey United by 6 goals to 3. Paul Cook scored a hattrick along with a brace from Lee Campbell and a goal from Sam Mallett. The current table can be seen by clicking here: NCFA Veterans League Three
 
Matchday Registrations
 
Just a reminder to all teams that they can do match day registrations for any game and these are unlimited for all clubs. You will need to use the paper registration form to do this before uploading the registration onto WGS on the SAME DAY. If you would like any guidance on this then please do not hesitate to contact us.
 
Match Confirmation
 
All teams must confirm with the other club the details of the game which includes confirming with the referee. All clubs should have the league handbook which can also be accessed on Full Time here.
 
Upcoming Fixtures
