Either KLSC FC or Wroxham FC will lift Norfolk’s newest County Cup this season after both reaching the final.

KLSC started their cup run with a convincing 8-0 away win over Dersingham Rovers. Victory against Attleborough Town set up a third round clash with QH Panthers, in which they required penalties to progress. Fakenham Town were the opposition for the King’s Lynn based side quarter-final tie and thanks to a 3-1 victory they entered the final four. Their closest game in the competition was the semi-final match versus Heigham Park Rangers as they edged into the final with a 2-1 away win.

KLSC Manager, Stuart Gallon was asked how he is feeling ahead of the game: “Really, really pleased. It’s our first season together and we’ve had a great year. We’ve played 12 games and scored 111 goals and only conceded 7 so the lads have done well. We’re at a great Club and the season has gone really well. A lot of my lads are involved in King’s Lynn U12’s as well, playing in the Junior Premier League this year and the team have got better and better playing against better players.”

Wroxham started their cup run in a similar fashion to their opponents with a large scoreline, in this instance it was a 12-1 away win to Watton Juniors. Another comprehensive victory of 12-0 against Heacham Minors in the third round set up a quarter-final clash with Stoke United, a game in which the yachtsmen kept another clean sheet, this time scoring two unanswered goals. The Blues overcame Taverham United in the semi-finals to reach the final at theFDC, as they will be hoping to emulate their U16 team who won a County Cup earlier this week.

Wroxham Manager, Nick Custance spoke about his feelings before the game: “I’m really pleased for the team, especially after the nature of this season. The boys had a big break but they’ve really, really stayed on top of everything and myself are Carl are over the moon the way they have come back. The boys have been tremendous, their attitude to everything and keeping strong has been superb so I’m over the moon.”
