Easton concluded their 2021-22 league campaign being crowned champions of the Norwich & District Sunday League, Premier Division, on goal difference. The squad’s journey to the Sunday Senior Cup final has been fuelled with action. A strong start in the first round of the competition saw a 5-2 win over last year’s finalists, Acle Rangers. The quarter-final was packed with drama with Easton qualifying for the next round on penalties against last year’s winners, CSKA Emneth. The semi-final was didn’t require extra-time thanks to a 2-1 victory away to Danepak.

When asked about the final, Easton’s Liam Pye said: “With a lot of the older lads retiring at the end of this season, it’s important to a lot of the players. For others it’s just another game that we are out to win. It would be an amazing achievement for little ole Easton to win the Sunday Senior Cup. It’s a Cup that every team want to win. If we win it’s nothing less than we deserve, particularly as we have played the hardest teams to get to the final.”

Long Stratton currently compete in the division below Easton in the Norwich & District Sunday League. The team comfortably won their Division, finishing 11 points clear at the top of the table. Long Stratton’s quest for Sunday Senior Cup glory has seen dominating wins over Vale Longo, Aylsham, and Phoenix. This is the team’s first appearance in the Sunday Senior Cup Final and they will be looking to continue their Cup form.

When asked about the final, Long Stratton Manager, Steve Race said: “The Cup final is very important to us, to reach a very first Senior County Cup Final in our Club’s history is amazing, and we are very keen to make it a landmark to remember. In addition, our long serving Club Secretary, Kevin Gristwood sadly passed away in February aged just 57. His family will be supporting us and we as a team would love to put a smile on their faces. We all thought the world of Kevin, he was the very best of us and to make his family proud in the final will spur the lads on.”
