The Lionesses have inspired us all and that includes the next generation of female footballers as well as adults, thanks to their incredible success in the Women’s EUROs 2022. They beat Germany 2-1 in the final at Wembley on Sunday, having gone unbeaten throughout the whole tournament.

There are many ways you can get involved in female football across the County, please see below.

 

Weetabix Wildcats

Wildcats is a non-competitive football session for girls who want to give it a go for the very first time or want to play with other girls their own age. Most importantly, Weetabix Wildcats is all about having loads of fun and meeting new amazing friends.

Squad Girls

Aged 12-14 and keen to kickstart or continue your football journey? Squad Girls’ Football sessions are just what you need! A fun, non-competitive way to play football locally with friends, old and new. Whether you’re completely new to the sport, are looking to transition from Weetabix Wildcats, or simply want to give it a go, Squad Girls’ Football is designed to help develop skills and build confidence, whilst encouraging girls to play their way.

Female Coaching Community

If you are female and actively coaching in Norfolk Football, why not join our Female Coaching Community. We host informal CPD sessions across the season to support the development of our female workforce. The community provides an opportunity to continue to expand knowledge about the game, meet likeminded individuals and create a positive support network.

Volunteering

Women’s Walking Football

Both The FDC in Bowthorpe and The FDC@OpenAcademy host Women’s Walking Football Sessions every week. The sessions are the perfect way to keep playing the game, keep fit and make new friends. Alternatively, it is ideal for getting a taste of football if you’ve never played the game before but are wanting to give it a try.
