The Middle Green compete in the Premier Division of the Norwich & District Sunday League. Based in Mulbarton, the team currently sit second in the table on 29 points. Their cup run commenced with a 3-2 win at home against Old Catton, before a comfortable 4-1 victory at home against Marlborough saw them through to the Quarter-Finals. The Middle Green then played away to last year’s runners up Moose Park Rangers, defeating them 3 goals to 1. It was a 2-1 win at home against Hethersett Athletic in the Semi-Final that secured their place in the final.

When speaking about the final, The Middle Green Manager, Dominic Doggett said: “When I took over as manager of The Middle Green, getting to the Sunday Senior Cup Final was always the ultimate goal and aspiration, but if I am honest, I never truly believed it was realistic until this year.

“We know that we’re firm underdogs, but we relish that! Who doesn’t love an upset in the Cup?”

Playing in the Peterborough & District Football League, Sunday Division One, CSKA Emneth sit second in the table with 55 points. After starting their cup run with a bye in the first round, they then knocked out last season’s Chaplin Farrant Sunday Senior Cup champions Young Boys with a substantial 6-0 win at home. Their Quarter-Final tie saw further success as they thrashed Vale Longo 8-2 at home with ease. It continued to be smooth sailing in the Semi-Final as another home win allowed them to enter the final, this time 3-1 against F.C Steamers.

When asked about the season so far and their opponents in the final, CSKA Emneth Manager, Jake Ogden said: “Coming into a new league it is much more competitive than last season. We are currently in a title race which looks like it is going right down to the end. Aspirations ahead are to compete, win trophies but mostly have fun!

“We haven’t played them for a few years but can see they are second in the league. The Norwich catchment area is a strong one so we expect a tough game.”
