CARROW ROAD CUP FINALS CONFIRMED

  • TWO COUNTY CUP FINALS CONFIRMED AT THE HOME OF NCFC
  • NORFOLK HIRE SENIOR CUP & HARROD SPORT WOMEN'S CUP RETURN TO CARROW ROAD

Norfolk FA is pleased to confirm the dates of the remaining 2023/24 County Cup Finals alongside announcing that the Harrod Sport Women’s Cup Final and the Norfolk Hire Senior Cup Final will return to Carrow Road on the 13th and 14th May respectively.

The staff at Norwich City FC have worked tirelessly to accommodate this year’s Finals as best as possible, despite the continually evolving impact of potential EFL Championship play-off dates. However, with the club’s capacity and flexibility understandably being significantly more limited than previous years, the Norfolk Junior Cup Final will now be hosted at Aldiss Park on Friday 10th May.

May will be big month in the local grassroots football calendar with all of Norfolk FA’s remaining County Cup finals taking place in a period of two weeks.

Sunday 5th of May sees the month’s action begin with a double header featuring the the U12 Girls’ Cup and U14 Girls’ Cup Finals taking place for the first time in history.

Friday 10th of May will see the Norfolk Junior Cup contested between Watlington Sports & Social Club and Dersingham Rovers at Dereham Town FC's Aldiss Park with a 7.30pm KO. Tickets are now on sale for this fixture and further information can be found below.

Attention then turns to Carrow Road with the Harrod Sport Women’s Cup Final taking place on Monday 13th May at 7.30pm.

After surging interest in the female game in recent years, last season’s Women’s Cup Final was the highest attended, and is likely to be this season’s largest final once again. The hotly anticipated occasion will see holders Norwich City look to retain their trophy against Tier 5 Wroxham who are hoping to win the competition for the first time.

Following this the Norfolk Hire Senior Cup will kick off at 7.30pm the next evening on Tuesday 14th May.

Norfolk FA’s oldest and most prestigious competition will see Gorleston take on Downham Town at the home of Norwich City FC with current holders the Green’s looking to retain the trophy. Their opposition are hoping to secure their first Senior Cup Final win since the 60’s; the same decade in which the pair last met in the final of the competition.

The 2024 County Cup finals will be concluded on Sunday 19th May when The FDC’s Harrod Sport Arena will host the U12’s Cup Final (mixed) followed by the Wensum Print Sunday Junior Cup Final.

Norfolk FA Chairman, Michael Banham said: “We are delighted to once again be able to host multiple County Cup Finals at Carrow Road, and regardless of the quick turnaround know that the players, staff, supporters and officials involved will be as grateful as we are at the opportunity.

“Huge thanks must go to Norwich City FC who despite having an extremely busy, and continuously changing schedule, have strived to accommodate us to the best of their ability."

Norwich City FC Technical Director, Neil Adams added: “The Norfolk Senior Cup is a prestigious competition that deserves a stage to suit, and the Norfolk Women’s Cup is once again expected to be passionately supported as female football continues to thrive in the County. We are pleased to be able to work with Norfolk FA to make both fixtures happen."
