Sunday Junior Cup Final 2018 Preview

Silver Fox FC will compete against Aylsham FC for this year's Sunday Junior Cup

This season`s Norfolk Sunday Junior Cup Final will be contested between the Silver fox FC and Aylsham FC at the FDC`s Field of Dreams. (KO 7:30pm)

Being in a higher division than their opponents, one could assume that Silver Fox arguably have the upper hand, but this will not necessarily determine the final result of the Sunday Junior Cup Final. Silver Fox have managed to win 11 games out of the 16 they’ve played in the league this season. They have scored over 50 goals and being in 5th place they are only six points away from the top of the table.

Silver Fox`s cup run began with 6-1 victory over Acle Rangers, this comfortable win set them on their way to the final. Additionally they went on to score 31 goals in the cup and only conceded 5, most of their wins have been convincing and not relying on penalties or extra time.

Aylsham are no strangers to being on the winning side as their league form suggests, having only lost 2 out of their 11 games and scoring 60 goals. This attacking prowess seems almost overwhelming; however their defence has been lacklustre in comparison, as they’ve conceded 18 goals in the league, indicating that they can be vulnerable at the back but tend to outscore their opponents.

Aylsham opened their cup run with a 5-4 win over DCS rapids; this slender victory is evidence that they are often involved in high scoring matches. Furthermore, they were able to beat Qube with an 8-0 score line in the semi-final; they obviously bring form into this week’s fixture. Results in previous rounds are sure to send a message to their opponents.

Let’s look forward to a competitive Final!
