Veterans - Bulletin

Leathes Prior Veterans League Bulletin - Matchday 1

Take a look at all the results from the first round of matches.

Welcome to the first bulletin of the 2018-19 season after what I hope was an enjoyable summer break. The bulletin will be published on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month and will provide a roundup of fixtures along with important information. Also there is a welcome to the League for our 4 new teams, namely Downham Town, Fakenham Town, Martham and Y.B.V Costessey United. We wish them the best of luck for the coming season and hopefully beyond.

Veterans League Review

The Premiership started with a heavyweight clash at Open Academy between Quebec and reigning Champions Cringleford. Cringleford took the lead before Quebec equalised with 5 minutes to go through Greg Harper so share the points at 1-1. Thetford start the season just like their previous two with a convincing win this time against North Walsham 6-0. Karl Pask scored a brace with Darren Kirk and Paul Mleczek also on the scoresheet. Silver Fox and Horsford was postponed with Horsford receiving the points. The current league table can be seen by clicking here: NCFA Veterans Premiership

In the Championship, Scole United go to the top of the table with a thumping 9-1 win over Mattishall Wanderers. Dale Barrett came off the bench to score a 10 minute hat trick with Simon Bartram and Michael Skipper both scoring a brace. Martham started life in the league with a comfortable 6-1 win over Wymondham. Nathan Thompson scored twice with David Paine and Ian Whittaker the pick of the scorers. After getting promoted last season Cottage started the season with a 3-0 win. For an up to date look at the Championship table then please click here: NCFA Veterans Championship

Unthank Arms and Sheringham were involved in a 13 goal thriller with Sheringham coming out on top 7-6. Paul Winterbone and Simon Robinson both scored hattricks for Sheringham with Leigh Wells also on the scoresheet. Unthank Arms scored 6 of their own through Lee Tibbenham, Dean Spary, Mark Dickerson, Andrew Brown and Lee Askew but fall just short on their return to League One. Sole & Heel have started the season with a 3-1 win at Cringleford Old Boys. Andrew Addle and Sam Trabelsi both came off the bench to score with Pawel Lukaszewicz scoring his first for the season. Mundford Exiles have also started with a win as they too also won 3-1 away at Costessey Sports. Shaun Copland scored his first for the season for Costessey but it wasn’t enough as they start the season with a defeat. Matchday Registrations

Just a reminder to all teams that they can do match day registrations for any game and these are unlimited for all clubs. You will need to use the paper registration form to do this before uploading the registration onto WGS on the SAME DAY. If you would like any guidance on this then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Match Confirmation

All teams must confirm with the other club the details of the game which includes confirming with the referee. All clubs should have the league handbook which can also be accessed on Full Time here.

If you are struggling to complete any team sheets or are unsure on how to use Full Time then please contact me and I will happily talk you through how to do this. Just a reminder that team sheets must be input into Full-Time within 3 days of your match which must include substitutions, goalscorers, referee marks (out of 40, 30, 30) and completing the respect and pitch questions. If you have any questions on this please contact me on Thomas.Constance@NorfolkFA.com.

7th October

As you should all be aware the 1st round of the Veterans Cup gets underway on the 7th October. With just 5 ties in the 1st round the majority of Championship, League 2 and League 3 teams will be without a game on this day. We encourage any teams without a fixture to move any fixtures from the last few weeks of the season to this date. Please be reminded that both teams need to agree to this otherwise the game cannot be moved.

The first round ties of the Veterans Cup can be found on our website here and we wish good luck to all teams involved!

Upcoming Fixtures

We have 7 fixtures on Sunday in the Championship League 2 and 3 which can be viewed here. On the 23rd we have 7 fixtures in the Premiership and League One which are here.
