The City of Norwich
School Win The Tom Eastall Trophy after putting six past Lynn Grove Academy
City of Norwich School vs Lynn Grove
Academy – Tom Eastall Trophy Final
FDC Field of Dreams 24.04.19 KO 7pm
Final Score: City of Norwich School 6 – 2 Lynn Grove Academy
The game
started slowly with both sides adapting to the larger pitch, the Field of
Dreams. The deadlock was broken after 12 minutes when Ted Conway latched onto a
long ball forward and calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net to
give The City of Norwich School (CNS) the lead. Conway got his second minutes
after when long periods of possession for CNS lead to him being 12 yards out
unmarked in the Lynn Grove box. He struck his shot well, and with the help of a
deflection, it found its way past the wrong-footed Benjafield.
Conway
completed his perfect hat-trick with 22 minutes played when a deflected cross
into the Lynn Grove area popped up kindly and he headed in from close range.
Conway got a fourth on the stroke of half-time, arguably against the play as
Lynn Grove had been creating chances towards to the end of the half.
Half Time: City of Norwich School 4 – 0
Lynn Grove Academy
Lynn Grove
scored their first of the game after some good interplay down the left allowed
a ball to be played across the CNS six yard box. Through a scramble of bodies a
Lynn Grove foot managed to direct the ball goal wards and into the net. With
just over 20 minutes to play CNS scored again as Conway got his fifth after
taking the ball past two Lynn Grove defenders and the goalkeeper and slotting
the ball home into an empty net.
Lynn Grove
scored a second when a corner to the far post was met with a bullet header
leaving the keeper no chance. Almost straight after, CNS scored their sixth,
and the final goal of the game, with a well struck effort from the left into
the far corner.
