Norfolk County FA Continue Their Defence Of The FA County Youth Cup This Weekend.

They will travel to play Sussex FA’s Under 18 Representative Squad.

Norfolk U18’s will be looking to continue their run in this year’s FA County Youth Cup on Sunday as they are still looking to be the first team ever to win the competition in successive years.

Norfolk reached the Quarter-final stage by beating Cornwall in the second round for which a match report can be found here.  Then beating the Isle of Man in the third round thanks to goals from Emre Upston and James Bemrose. Sussex reached this round of the competition after brushing aside Northamptonshire in their third round match, scoring 5 in the process. Norfolk and Sussex have not met in the competition in recent years however recent results would indicate that the southern outfit will be a tough test. 

Gavin Lemmon, Norfolk FA U18’s Manager, spoke of his excitement of the match: “We know that the game on Sunday will be our toughest challenge to date for our lads, but I am confident we have enough quality in our squad to provide the same tough test to the Sussex squad”

“Cup football is all about who performs on the day and whether lady luck is also on your side so I will be asking the players to embrace the occasion and once again represent their county with pride and to enjoy the experience of playing in a National Cup Quarter-Final”
