This Sunday sees the first #NCFAgamedayLIVE of 2019 as Taverham Women are hosting Wymondham Ladies in the Quarter-Finals of the Norfolk Women’s Cup.

Taverham have had a great season thus far as they currently sit top of the second Division in the Norfolk Women’s and Girls’ Football League having not lost a game all season. Their perfect winning record was only prevented when they were held to a scoreless draw on the first day of the season by Freethorpe. Since then they have gone on to score 83 and only conceding 10 showing that they are not shy in front of goal. They enter the quarter-Finals of the Norfolk Women’s Cup after beating Horsford 9-0 in the previous round.

The defending champions, Wymondham, have adapted to life well after gaining promotion from the Eastern Region Division 1 North to the Eastern Region Women’s Football League. This season they have been prolific in front of goal as they have scored 99 goals with 22 of them coming in the previous round of the Norfolk Women’s Cup against Bulldogs without reply. However, Wymondham are yet to score in 2019 so they will want to get back to winning ways this Sunday.

Alex Guy, the Wymondham Manager, spoke of his excitement of the match; “It’s great that the Twitter community voted for our game to be covered by Norfolk FA, in what is an innovative platform to raise awareness of games that would not normally receive high level media attention”
