Reffley Youth face Costessey Sports in the first High Altitude U12's Cup Final
Match Preview: The High Altitude U12’s Cup Final!
The first ever High Altitude U12’s Cup Final will be played between Reffley Youth and Costessey Sports on Friday 17 May 2019 (7:30pm KO). Reffley Youth compete in the Peterborough and District Junior League U12 Division 1 whereas Costessey Sports compete in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League U12 Premiership.
Costessey Sports are undefeated in the League this season as they have won seven and drawn one match. This puts them second in the League behind Horsford who have won all eight of their matches. However Costessey could win the League if they are able to beat Horsford in their final match of the season later this month. After receiving a bye in the First Round, Costessey started their cup run at home to Scole United who they comfortably beat 12-0. The Third Round saw them welcome Division One side, Drayton Youth who they beat 3-0. In the Quarter-Finals they faced fellow Premiership side Bawburgh Bulls where they won 4-1. The Semi-Final saw them host table topping Horsford. Costessey required penalties to beat them after drawing 1-1 after 90 minutes.
In the League, Reffley Youth have finished in eighth place after winning 5 of their 18 League matches. Similarly to Costessey, Reffley received a bye in the First Round. In the Second they travelled to Taverham Hotspurs where they narrowly won 2-1. The Third Round saw them travel to Norwich United Lions, a game that they won 3-2. Their Quarter-Final match was their first at home and they kept their first clean sheet of their Cup run whilst scoring twice against Lakeford Rangers. They reached The High Altitude U12’s Cup Final after beating Mundford 3-1 at home in the Semi-Final.
It promises to be an exciting game!
