New Board & Deputy Chairman for the Association

We are pleased to inform the Norfolk Football community that following the recent Articles of Association changes that were approved at the January EGM and subsequent AGM on the 1 July, we have a number of new Directors on our Board for this season. We also have a new Deputy Chairman in place for the next three year term.

Firstly, we are delighted to state that Michael Banham has been re-elected as Chairman of Norfolk County FA. Michael has been exceptional in his time as Chairman of the Association so far and we are pleased that he will continue his role for another three year term.

In addition, Ben Casey was successful in being voted in as the Association’s new Deputy Chairman at July’s AGM. Ben joined the Board back in the 2013 as one of our Grassroots Directors appointed from the Norfolk FA Council. He has been involved in local football for a vast number of years and recently held the position of League Secretary for our largest adult male Sunday League, the Norwich and District Sunday League.

We would like to express sincere thanks to Ray Venemore for his service as Deputy Chairman of the Association for the past six years, along with his overall service to the Association that stems back to joining Norfolk FA Council in 1993. In recognition of this, we are extremely pleased to confirm that Ray has accepted the offer of being a Life Member on Norfolk FA Council.

Further thanks also go to our Immediate Past Chairman, Richard King, who has now retired as a Director after 20 years of service on the Board.

The AGM also saw five appointed Directors ratified, two being re-appointed in the form of John Turner and Paul Ballard and three being new to the Association. The three newly appointed Directors are Joe Conway, Paul Marshall and Matt Wells, all of whom come with a diverse skill set that will enable the County FA to continue to thrive into the future.

The Board will also have three advisors this season, these being Lynnette Bygrave (Norfolk County FA Finance Officer), Di Cunningham (Inclusion Representative) and Peter Ford.
