The FDC will play host to Wroxham and Dereham Town on Wednesday 19 February in the Norfolk Senior Cup Semi-Finals.

Wednesday night sees theFDC host the second Norfolk Senior Cup Semi-Final between Wroxham and Dereham Town to see who will play Great Yarmouth Town or UEA at Carrow Road on Monday 23 March. Wroxham play in the Thurlow Nunn League, Premier Division whilst their opponents Dereham are the highest ranked team left in the competition as they play in the Bet Victor Isthmian League, North Division.

Wroxham last lifted the Norfolk Senior Cup in 2015 and haven’t reached a final at Carrow Road since, as such they will be relishing the chance to play on Norfolk’s biggest stage again. The Yachtsmen are having a good Season in the League as they are currently 5th but can go up to 2nd if they win games in hand. The Club are also doing extremely well in the Buildbase FA Vase as they beat Stowmarket Town in the last 16 to set up a Quarter-Final tie with Bitton on Saturday 29 February. They have beaten two local rivals in the shape of Caister and Gorleston en route to the Semi-Finals as well as beating Harleston Town in the Quarter-Final 3-1.

Dereham Town are the defending champions of the Norfolk Senior Cup having beaten Thetford Town 2-1 after extra time last Season. In their League they sit mid table as they have been inconsistent with performances, often struggling to string together victories, however with a strong end to the season they could still yet reach the League play-offs. The Magpies are yet to concede a goal in this season’s competition having beaten last year’s fellow finalists, Thetford, 7-0 in the third round and overcoming Mundford 1-0 under the lights at Aldiss Park, in the Quarters.

Let's hope for a great semi-final encounter under the lights!
