ASHTONS LEGAL SPONSOR NORFOLK SENIOR CUP

The Norfolk Senior Cup was first contested in 1882 with Norfolk & Norwich FC beating Lynn Town FC 3-1 in the Final. Over 135 years later the competition is still as fiercely contested between Norfolk’s highest-level non-league teams with the most recent winners being Dereham Town.

We are delighted that our most prestigious competition will continue to thrive with the support of our newest partner; Ashtons Legal, who we are looking forward to working with. Every season, around 40 teams from across the County play in what will now be known as The Ashtons Legal Senior Cup thanks to regional solicitors, Ashtons Legal, becoming Norfolk FA’s Official Legal Partner, supporter of grassroots football and sponsors of the Norfolk Senior Cup.

Ashtons Legal employs almost 400 people across the region, providing first class legal advice to both commercial organisations and individuals.  Cup competition winning FA teams are used to lifting trophies. So too are Ashtons Legal, having been nominees and winners of various accolades over the last decade, including ‘Law Firm of the Year’ at the LawNet Awards last year.

With both the Ashtons Legal Senior Cup Semi-Finals having taken place this week at the FDC, Bowthorpe we now know who will play for the prestigious trophy on Monday 23 March at Carrow Road. UEA enter their first ever Senior Cup Final after beating Great Yarmouth Town 5-4 on penalties after the sides couldn’t be separated in 120 minutes of action. UEA will be facing Dereham Town as thanks to a Toby Hilliard hat-trick and goals from Matthew Castellan and Adam Hipperson they overcame Wroxham on Wednesday evening. This will be Dereham Town’s seventh appearance in the Final as they hope to retain the trophy.

Norfolk FA Chairman, Michael Banham said: “We’re thrilled to announce this new partnership with Ashtons Legal for the next three seasons. From meeting Ed O’Rourke and Dave Richardson at the Semi-Finals this week, I can tell they are passionate about supporting local grassroots football and are excited to be associated with our most prestigious competition, the Norfolk Senior Cup. I look forward to welcoming them to Carrow Road on Monday 23 March, for the official launch of the partnership.”
