Today we are proud to announce Norfolk's winners of The FA & McDonald's Grassroots Football Awards 2020.
Without the commitment of our army of volunteers, clubs and leagues in Norfolk would struggle to survive and it is the dedication and enthusiasm of such individuals that makes the game so special.
After a record-breaking number of nominations over a six week period, an independent judging panel selected winners and highly commended awards across nine different categories and those in receipt of an award were informed via letter this week.
The winners of this year's awards are as follows:
Club of the Year – Costessey Sports FC
Coach of the Year – Leah Newcombe
Highly commended: Gary Howes
Grounds Team of the Year – Carl Nicholls
League of the Year – North West Norfolk League
Highly commended: Norfolk Combined Youth Football League
Match Official of the Year – Egidijus Amsiejus
Highly commended: Ben Green & Jaden Lister
Project of the Year – Great Yarmouth Town (NHS Fundraising Project)
Rising Star of the Year – Callum Kirby
Highly commended: Harry Bland & Jess Newton
Volunteer of the Year – Chris Brown
Highly commended: Jackie Price & Ray Ewart
We Only Do Positive – Dan Henry (Costessey Sports Respect Video)
We still have plans to recognise ‘in person’ each of our winners and those highly commended, ideally via an awards ceremony, however this is something we are naturally just parking for the time-being and we will be back in touch once we are in position to confirm our plans for this.
