  • REMAINING NINE FINALS TO TAKE PLACE ON NEW 3G PITCH – THE FDC ARENA

Norfolk FA is pleased to announce the dates of this season’s County Cup Finals and delighted to confirm that the Ashtons Legal Senior Cup final and Harrod Sport Women's Cup final will return to Carrow Road.

The remaining County Cup finals will take place at Norfolk FA’s Football Development Centre on the recently completed 3G stadia pitch, now known as The FDC Arena.

May is set to be a big month in the local grassroots football calendar with all 11 of Norfolk FA’s County Cup finals taking place in a 29-day period.

The action will begin on Sunday 1st May with a double header featuring the Wensum Print Sunday Junior Cup final, followed by the One Broker Veterans Cup final.

Sunday 15th May hosts another double header with the Stuart Dracup Cup and John Savage Cup finals taking place, celebrating U14 and U16 youth football respectively. Followed by the 4Work Primary Cup final kicking off on the evening of Monday 16th May.

Five finals then take place in four days with the Norfolk Intermediate Cup final kicking off in the afternoon of Saturday 21st, before the Norfolk Junior Cup provides the evening entertainment that night.

The Sunday Senior Cup will be competed for on the morning of the 22nd before the evening of Monday 23rd sees the Ashtons Legal Senior Cup final played at the home of Norwich City FC. The Harrod Sport Women’s Cup final then will be contested on the evening of Wednesday 25th, also on the hallowed turf of Carrow Road.

The 21/22 County Cup finals will be concluded the following Friday as The FDC Arena is reconfigured to host the Norfolk U12’s Cup final on the evening of the 27th.

It will be the first time that any Norfolk County Cup Final has taken place on the Carrow Road grass since 2019 with the Covid-19 pandemic cancelling 2020’s competitions, and all finals taking place at The FDC in 2021 due to the continuing impacts of the virus.

With both Norfolk FA and Norwich City FC striving to return to normality after a challenging and inconsistent two-year period, the Governing Body for football in Norfolk is pleased to confirm this season’s dates as well as the news of Carrow Road for the Senior Cup competition.

Norfolk FA Chairman, Michael Banham said: “We are delighted to announce this season’s County Cup Final dates and I’m extremely pleased that we will be making a return to Carrow Road once again. Thanks go to Norwich City FC who despite having an extremely busy schedule were able to accommodate us to ensure the Senior Cup final gets the occasion and attendance it deserves.

“It’s also fantastic news that we will be hosting all of the remaining finals on our new, state of the art 3G pitch, The FDC Arena. We are extremely proud of our new facility and can’t wait to showcase it to the masses this May in what we hope will be ten brilliant and memorable events for all involved.”

Norwich City FC Assistant Sporting Director, Neil Adams added: “The Norfolk Senior Cup is a prestigious competition that deserves a stage to suit, and we are pleased to be able to work with the Governing Body to make this fixture and the Harrod Sport Women's Cup final happen.

“The past two seasons have been a challenge for all levels of the game and while there is still ongoing impact, it’s hopeful that we will soon return to complete normality and football can continue to thrive once again.”
