ALAN WILLIAMS
The Chairman, Board of Directors and all at Norfolk FA are deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of former Chairman, Alan Williams.
Our thoughts are with Alan's family and friends at this extremely sad time.
Alan joined the Norfolk County FA Council in 1975 and was Chairman of the Association between 1998-2001 before becoming a Life Vice-President.
He was best known for his love of Sunday football and was a founder member of the Norwich & District Sunday League in the late 1950s and upon his retirement as Secretary in 2009, he was presented with the Torch Trophy by HRH the Duchess of Gloucester for serving football with distinction for so many years.
His volunteering was also recognised in 2003 when he received The FA's 50 Year Service Award.
All Clubs are asked to observe a minute's silence this Weekend ahead of their respective fixtures, in memory of Alan. Appointed Norfolk FA Match Officials have been made aware of this.
