NORFOLK FA REGIONAL COACH CPD WORKSHOPS

We are delighted to announce that the Norfolk FA Coaches Club will be touring the county this season delivering coach CPD sessions in 6 regionalised venues across the county.

The aim of our CPD roadshow is to make our workshops as accessible as possible for all coaches in the county to attend, ensuring the majority of coaches can access a workshop within a 30min drive.  Each venue will host a 3 part series aimed at supporting new and recently qualified coaches, and embedding and building on current knowledge of more experience coaches. All workshops are 2 hours with 1 hour of theory/group discussions and 1 hour of practical observations. All of these workshops are FREE OF CHARGE!

Session 1: The Environment – How to maximise players learning

• This session will be help you to understand your players and show practical examples of how to manage differences within the group. We will also touch on varied intervention methods and look at how your practice design is important to maximising learning opportunities for your players.

Session 2: On the Ball – Developing skilful players

• This session will look into attacking principles of play and core attacking skills that will help develop a skilful player.  Practical session will involve the importance of relating warm up/arrival activities to session topic and example of “Up the Steps” session design.

Session 3: Off the ball – How session design is key for your intended outcomes

• This session will look into defending principles of play and core defending skills that will help develop a skilful player.  Practical session will involve examples of whole-part-whole  & carousel delivery.

Norfolk County FA Football Development Officer, James Buhlemann said: “I am excited to be able to build on our successful coach CPD workshops from last season. We now have over 600 Coaches Club members who are benefiting from the support we are able to offer them within their grassroots environments. The CPD roadshows mean that more coaches within the county are going to be able to access support from our brilliant tutors, and network with other grassroots coaches on the same journey.”

• WEST - Alive Lynnsport, King's Lynn - Wednesday 27th September - 6.30-8.30pm
• EAST - Flegg High School, Martham - Wednesday 4th October - 6.30pm-8.30pm
• CENTRAL - The FDC @Open Academy - Monday 9th October - 6.30pm-8.30pm
• SOUTH EAST - Long Stratton Leisure Centre - Monday 16th October - 6.30pm-8.30pm
• SOUTH WEST - Watton Leisure Centre - Tuesday 17th October - 6.30pm-8.30pm
