The Chaplin Farrant Sunday Senior Cup Final 2022-23

The Chaplin Farrant Sunday Senior Cup final is the fifth in the programme of Norfolk County Cup Finals. The final sees Young Boys play Moose Park Rangers on Sunday 7 May. The game kicks off at 10:30am and tickets can only be purchased online.

This season Young Boys have made it to the Sunday Senior Cup Final, as well as comfortably winning the Norwich & District Sunday League Premier Division with 40 points after 14 games. Winning 13 out of 14 and drawing just one. They are still yet to lose as a side in 2 full seasons in the Norwich & District Sunday league. They will be looking to add the Sunday Senior Cup to the trophy list. They will also be competing in the Norfolk vs Suffolk Sunday District Cup Final at Bury Town in May.

They have had a tougher test in the Sunday Senior Cup this season where they began with a bye. They first overcame Hethersett Athletic in the Second Round where the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and Young Boys won 4-3 on penalties. In the Quarter-Final they defeated The Middle Green 1-0 in another close game. The Semi-Final is where they got their biggest win in the cup run, they beat previous winners CSKA Emneth 4-1.

When asked about the final, Young Boys Manager, Matt Goose said: “We are delighted to reach the Senior Cup Final first time of asking but if we don’t walk away with that trophy, it means nothing to us. We’ve never won this cup before so we will make sure we leave with that trophy. This season has been near enough perfect, we are in a Final, Semi-Final and already have the league wrapped up couldn’t have asked for more from the boys.”

At the time of writing Moose Park Rangers are currently competing in Division 1 in the Norwich & District Sunday League, where they are sitting sixth, after winning eight, losing seven and drawing one with three league fixtures remaining. At the time of writing Charlie Brindle is their top goal scorer having netted nine goals in ten games so far. They will be looking to win another trophy after a very successful 5 years.

When speaking about the final, Moose Park Rangers Manager, Charlie Lambe said: “To reach the final really summarises what this club is about. Hard graft and determination, beating some decent opponents on the way. I feel extremely proud of everyone involved with the team. It will be a difficult task, but I feel we have enough about us to try and make things tough to play against.”
