The 4Work Primary Cup Final 2022-23

The 4Work Primary Cup final is the sixth in the programme of Norfolk County Cup Finals. The final sees AG Hingham play AFC Emneth Reserves on Saturday 13 May. The game kicks off at 2:00pm and tickets can only be purchased online.

This season AG Hingham have lost only one match to date and have drawn once as well, meaning that they have won 25 out of a possible 27 matches. The ‘Haggies’ will be wanting to lift this season’s 4Work Primary Cup after disappointingly going out in the Third Round last year to Yaxham. They are no strangers to silverware however, as they have won both their respective League titles this season and last. They reached this year’s Final thanks to a hard fought win over Weeting Saxon in the Semi-Finals with a 4-1 scoreline. They will be hoping top scorers; Samuel Miles, Matthew Carr and Jay Webb will fire them to victory.

When asked about the final, AG Hingham Manager, Josh Guinness said: “Since we started with AG Hingham last season, we've been lucky enough to be relatively successful. As well as winning our league and subsequently promotion last season, we also reached 3 cup finals, running out winners in 2. That being said, the Primary Cup was the biggest competition we were entered into at the start of the campaign and is one we'd love to get our hands on after falling short last term.”

AFC Emneth Reserves currently play in the Cambridgeshire County League CSI 3B Division and sit in second place in the league. After twenty-three games they have won seventeen games drawing three and losing three with a goal difference of fifty-one and on fifty-four points. They reached this year’s final having knocked out Costessey Sports Reserves in the Semi-Final thanks to a 2-1 scoreline.

When speaking about the final, AFC Emneth Reserves Manager, Alex Munday said: “It means a lot to myself for reaching the final. It also means the world to the lads who have got us here. We had a great start to the season with a few games not going our way. We are still pushing to get promoted at the end of the season.”
