Norfolk County FA were presented the Partner Wellbeing Initiative of the Year Award from Norfolk & Waveney Mind at their recent Annual AGM.

Norfolk & Waveney Mind is Norfolk FA’s Official Charity Partners with the aim of the partnership being to help fundraise, raise awareness and promote mental health and wellbeing within the workplace and local football community.

In the last 12 months Norfolk FA have supported the work of Norfolk & Waveney Mind in various forms. In January, the majority of Norfolk FA Staff took part in the 3K-per-day challenge by walking, running or cycling three kilometres every day in January, raising a total of £850 in the process. This was a great success, not only for the amount raised, but for staff members to get outside and exercise to benefit both their physical and mental health.

The three County Cup Finals that were held at Carrow Road last season all took place around Mental Health Awareness Week (May 15th – May 21st). To support Norfolk & Waveney Mind at all three of these events, all Norfolk FA staff and Club Representatives of the finalists wore branded lanyards and pin badges, as well as joining together on the pitch before kick-off of each fixture for a group photo.

On Friday 30 June, The FDC hosted the annual Norfolk & Waveney Mind Charity 5-a-side Tournament, in which teams competed throughout the day to be crowned champions. The tournament was won by Minors & Brady, but the real winners were Norfolk & Waveney Mind both for the awareness increased of the importance of good mental health and the finance raised to support their work in the local community.
