Norfolk County FA is pleased to announce that the window in which Clubs can affiliate teams and register players is open now.

Similarly to the 2023/24 season, the process will be conducted using the Club Portal and will follow a team based affiliation model.

Affiliation Requirements for 2024/25

We appreciate that this is a busy time of year for clubs as preparations for the new season are now in full swing, so it is worth taking some time to refresh yourselves on the requirements in order to complete your team affiliations. 2024/25 Affiliation Requirements

The majority of the changes for 2024/25 affiliation affect open aged teams, with new mandatory safeguarding requirements now in place. The full requirements can be viewed on the link above however the open aged requirements can be summarised here:

·       All clubs with open aged teams must name an Adult Team Welfare Officer

·       Adult Team Welfare Officers must have completed the free online Player Welfare Course

·       All named open aged Team Officials (manger, coach etc) must have completed the free online Player Welfare Course

·       Should the open aged team register any players who are 16 or 17 years old, the Adult Team Welfare Officer and any named Team Official must obtain an accepted FA Enhanced DBS check – guidance for completing DBS checks can be found here

Before commencing the affiliation process, there are a few administrative tasks to complete to ensure that your Club’s data is up to date which will in turn help make the process more streamlined. Please refer to the useful Affiliation Checklist which will guide you through the pre affiliation tasks.

Affiliation Support

Norfolk FA’s Football Services Team will be on hand to help all Clubs navigate their way through the 2024/25 Team Affiliation window. The answer to the majority of your questions can be found within the FAQ list on the grassroots technology support portal, which can be found here.

The FA will also be hosting an online affiliation training session which will take place on Tuesday 11th June, 6.30pm-7.30pm. Please book onto this session by clicking here and completing the form.

Player Registration

For the 2024/25 season, the player registration window will open concurrently with the team affiliation window, meaning Clubs will be able to register player on the Club Portal from as early as the 5th June.

There is an important process change for the 2024/25 season, as Norfolk FA will no longer be completing player registration approvals centrally on behalf of the sanctioned leagues. This now means that the responsibility for completing the approvals will sit with the leagues.

Norfolk FA will be working very closely with the leagues to support them through the approval processes, and to assist clubs with any technical issues that may come up along the way.
